What is PagePulse?
PagePulse is a document capture, search and signing system from Logix. It lets your business capture paperwork with a phone or your existing scanner, find any document by the words printed on it in under a second, and sign forms on a tablet – with everything filed automatically in one searchable archive.
Can you host it for us, or does it have to run on our own server?
Either way – whichever suits you. If you have server capacity, PagePulse runs on-premises on your own hardware. If you don’t, Logix can host it for you on dedicated infrastructure in a South African data centre. Both options are fully managed by us, and in both cases your data stays in South Africa.
Where is my data stored, and is it POPIA-aligned?
Your documents stay either on your own premises or on Logix-managed infrastructure inside South Africa – never in an offshore cloud. Access control, audit trails, retention rules and encrypted backup are built in, so you stay cleanly aligned with POPIA.
Does it work with our existing scanner?
Yes. Your current office scanner keeps working exactly as it does today and feeds the same system, alongside phone capture from any recent Android or iPhone.
How can a scanned document be searchable?
PagePulse reads the text on every page as it’s captured – including scanned images, and handwriting where it’s legible – so you can search by a supplier reference, an order number or a name that appears anywhere inside the document, not just the filename.
What devices do our staff need?
Any recent Android or iPhone for capture (the app is free), your existing scanner for larger batches, and one tablet with a pen at each signing station. Nothing else changes about how people work.
Is electronic signing legally valid in South Africa?
Yes. PagePulse uses ordinary electronic signatures as recognised under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). Every signed document carries a full audit trail – signer identity, timestamp and a tamper-evident seal – so it can always be shown to be genuine and unchanged.
Do we have to buy the whole system at once?
No. Most businesses start with capture and search to fix the day-to-day scanning and filing, then add automatic data extraction and tablet signing later, as the need arises.
Can it feed our other systems, like our ERP or accounting package?
Yes. PagePulse can read the key fields off your documents – delivery note numbers, PO references, dates, suppliers – and pass that structured data into systems such as Syspro, your ERP or your accounting package, so information arrives as data rather than a picture of data.
Do we need to change how our staff work?
Very little. Documents can still be reached through a familiar folder view, capture is as simple as open-snap-done, and staff see only what their role allows.
What happens to our documents if we ever leave?
They’re yours, always, held in open formats. There’s no lock-in – if you ever move on, your documents come with you.
What if a disk fails or something goes wrong?
That depends on how PagePulse is run. When Logix hosts it for you, automated encrypted backups, tested restores and around-the-clock monitoring are included. On your own premises, backups are an optional add-on through VaultPulse, and monitoring and support are provided to the level set in your plan – so protection is agreed up front, not assumed.
Is it managed, or do we run it ourselves?
Either – it’s scoped to your plan. Logix can host and fully manage PagePulse for you, with backups included. If you run it on your own premises, we handle licensing and updates and can add our monitoring platform, an agreed level of support, and backups through VaultPulse. Support and backup are set by your plan rather than open-ended, so everyone’s clear on what’s covered.
